Opus Research honors Amtrak’s “Ask Julie”

Amtrak’s “Ask Julie” is a traveler’s best friend, making it easy to plan a trip, book a hotel room or even reserve a rental car.

Julie, a hard-working virtual assistant, is able to understand questions asked in customers’ own, natural language, providing a humanlike interaction that’s always up-to-date with the rail service provider’s routes, prices, specials and regulations.

She’s also delivered an 8X return on investment, saves Amtrak over one million dollars per year in customer-service email costs and generates 30% more revenue per booking than transactions completed without her.

Those are some of the very qualities that made Julie a winner among the 14 entries at Opus Research’s 2nd annual Intelligent Assistant Awards, held October 13–14 in New York City.

With over five million questions answered annually, 50% year-over-year growth in Julie’s usage and service that stands out in a rapidly expanding branch of technology, Julie’s future with Amtrak is looking bright.

Congratulations, Julie. We’re proud of you!
